Driver of police car in road mishap charged
ROXAS CITY—The driver of the police car which bumped a passenger jeep carrying a group of boy scouts recently has been charged with reckless imprudence before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office here.
PO3 Gerard Bienes, member of the 605th Mobile Group of the Capiz Provincial Police Office, was the driver of patrol car convoying Deputy Police Director German Doria who visited Roxas City.
The complainants were Don-don Declaro, 12, through his father Dominador Declaro Jr.; Paul Henri Barrientos, 12; and Mikhael Andrew Beluso, 13, and his mother Myrna.
Earlier, the police charged Jerry Albaladejo, driver of the passenger jeepney, with “reckless imprudence resulting to damage to properties.”
Declaro was brought to St. Paul Hospital in Iloilo City due to serious injuries.
Declaro sustained broken ribs while Barrientos and Beluso got bruises.
The complainants said that Bienes drove the police patrol jeep without a plate number, without sirens, headlights and blinkers on.
The passenger jeepney was on its way to a boy scout encampment in Brgy. Matagnop, Dao, Capiz when the incident happened.
