Felix commends 56 NOPPO personnel
BACOLOD CITY -- Police Senior Superintendent Manuel Felix, Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) director, led the awarding of medals yesterday at the Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. Headquarters in Bacolod City on 56 deserving PNP personnel.
The awardees received the Medalya Ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit) and the Medalya Ng Papuri (PNP Commendation Medal).
Among the awardees are the Manapla Police Station headed by Police Senior Inspector Jose Laboyo as well as 19 personnel of the local police who were awarded the PNP Medal of Merit for the successful apprehension of members of the Palmares Robbery Hold-up Ilonggo Group led by Ian Gamboa last September 2, 2008 at Crossing Busay, Barangay Punta Mesa in Manapla town.
NOPPO SOG/Intelligence Branch chief, Police Superintendent Jomil John Trio and five others were likewise awarded the PNP Medal of Merit for the successful arrest of Mary Grace Delicano alias "Ka Kim", the alleged Finance and Logistics Officer of KLNN, Komiteng Rehiyon-Negros of the CPP/NPA by virtue of an arrest warrant in Criminal Case Number RTC 3789 for Robbery-in-band issued by Judge Moises Nifras Sr of RTC Branch 59-San Carlos City two years ago.
There were 23 others including former NOPPO Provincial Director PSSupt Rosendo Franco who received the PNP Commendation Medal as overall ground commander and members of the operating team that led to the neutralization of Delicano in Bacolod City.
Special Operations Group-AIDSOTF headed by PCI Rico Santotome was also awarded PNP Medal of Merit for the successful conduct of "OPLAN Iwas Paputok" wherein six major operations against banned and imported pyrotechnics were made in the towns of Hinigaran and San Enrique as well as in the cities of Silay, Talisay, Bago and La Carlota in 2007. A total of P480,000 worth of illegal firecrackers where seized with six cases filed in court for Violation of RA 7183 against 38 suspects.
