20 pyrotechnic makers to join fireworks contest in Capiztahan
ROXAS CITY – Twenty pyrotechnic manufacturers coming from different places nationwide will participate in the fireworks competition and exhibition on April 15 at around 7:00 p.m. at Villareal Stadium in connection with the province's celebration of Capiztahan 2009.
Provincial Tourism Officer Al Teroso said in a press conference that the said pyrotechnic manufacturers already signified their intention to participate the fireworks competition and exhibition.
Tesoro said each participant will have seven minutes time of fireworks exhibition in which the duration of competition is expected to last for 140 minutes or two hours.
He said that prices at stake in the competition are: 1st prize - P200,000; 2nd prize - P60,000; 3rd prize - P 40,000 and P 25,000 each as consolation prize for non-wining participants.
This is the second time around where Capiztahan will stage a fireworks competition. Last year more than ten manufacturers all over the country participated in the competition.
The province of Capiz will celebrate its 108th foundation anniversary with various activities slated from April 13 - 15.
This year's theme is: “Pagpasanyug sang Kultura sang Maayo nga Paghimanwa Padulong sa Tayuyon nga Katin-aran”. The commemoration coincides with the President Manuel Roxas Day Celebration.
The 3-day affair, according to Tesoro, will also be the showcase of good governance and preservation of Capiz culture and heritage.
The provincial government under the leadership of Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr will also render free surgical (circumcision) and dental services to the Capiceños.
It will also give honor and give awards to Capiceños who have brought honor and recognition to Capiz.
