Freemasons sponsor PNP seminar
Roxas City --- As a community service project, Makawiwili Lodge No.55, Roxas City, of Masonic District VI-A sponsored a “Police Investigation Seminar” held at the Capiz Provincial Capitol last March 25, participated in by the Chiefs of Police of the 16 municipalities of Capiz and Roxas City and the police investigators. The participants totaled of 86 law enforcers. The lecturers of the seminar were Judge Hannibal Patricio, Provincial Prosecutor Rodolfo I. Beluso, Roxas City Prosecutor Erwin Ignacio, Phil. Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Director Col. Sanchez, Passi City Prosecutor Melwen Sustento (District Deputy Grand Master, Masonic Dist. VI-A), and Retired Judge Elias A. Conlu (Senior Warden-Makawiwili Lodge 55).
The topics discussed were Pertinent Provisions of the Constitution on the Bill of Rights, the Miranda Doctrine, Custodial Investigation, Arbitrary Detention, R.A.9165 (Dangerous Drugs) R.A.9287 (Illegal Gambling) R.A. 9262 (Women and Children) Rules on Inquest Investigation.
The appreciation of the participants of the much-needed seminar was very evident with their lively interaction during the open forum. Capiz Police Provincial Director S/Supt. Josephus Angan commended the Freemasons for this laudable community project.
