Residents seek barangay help over air pollution problem
BACOLOD CITY -- Purok officials from Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan here is now initiating a signature campaign for their petition to save their place from air pollution caused by Ta-ala Farms, a business established for "egg laying" production and other animal products.
The residents led by their president Quintin Ravena Jr. are now readying a petition letter requesting the office of the Barangay Council to address the problem that they are now experiencing the past four years.
Barangay residents alleged that unless this problem in air pollution will be solved it might cause an extra burden on our people suffering from heart diseases, chronic lung conditions and gastroenteritis diseases.
"The intake of this very unpleasant and irritating odor by children might increase their susceptibility to flu and other diseases caused by this problem,” Ravena said.
Edwin Nobleza, secretary of Kabugwason, confirmed the same experience since they started living near the Ta-ala Farm.
Most of the Kabugwason residents came from Barangay 8 who had been subjected for demolition for almost five years already.
