NBI tight-lipped on Antique kidnapping
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has taken custody of a suspect in the kidnapping of Antique businessman James Ardaña.
The NBI is already investigating Pajarito, and taking down his statement regarding the incident, Police Regional Office 6 director, Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas told The News Today in a phone interview.
Cuevas said that the victim's brother, June, positively identified Pajarito as the person who was lying on the pavement, blocking their way and forcing them to a halt.
However, NBI regional director, lawyer Mario Sison is tight-lipped on the matter, refusing to comment at all.
Several questions were asked of Sison regarding the kidnapping of Ardaña, the answers to all of which were, “no comment.”
Sison was asked of the initial result of their investigation into the kidnapping, or if indeed they have conducted an investigation into the incident in the first place, and he answered, “no comment.'
Asked if the NBI was taking interest in the case, he also answered 'no comment,' which is also the same response when questioned if they are keeping their hands off the incident.
'No comment' was also Sison's answer when asked if the NBI had taken any action at all.
Further quizzed if the reason why he would rather not comment on the questions earlier propounded was so as not to prejudice or compromise the life of Ardana, Sison again answered, 'no comment.'
However, Sison requested the media to understand them, promising that in due time, they will give out information.
Meantime, Cuevas said that police tracker teams have been deployed to trace the whereabouts of the victim and the other suspects.
