PRO6 Day Care Center opens today
The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) Day Care Center for police dependents and children in neighboring barangays of Camp Martin Delgado opens today.
The center, which was blessed and inaugurated on February 13 during the 18th PNP Anniversary celebration, is a pet project of PRO 6 Director, Police Chief Superintendent Isagani R Cuevas, with the support of the Officers’ Ladies Club (OLC) under the auspices of his wife, Mrs Susan Cuevas.
Thirty-three (33) toddlers compose the first batch of enrollees for a month-long summer class which will end on May 20. Their parents or guardians attended the orientation with the OLC President, Mrs Lilian Defensor, and City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) representatives, Miss Cassanora Jamolo and Janice Omagap.
The center conducts two sessions from 8:00 to 10:00 A.M. for children aged above three years old and from 10:00 to noon for children aged three years old and below, Monday through Friday.
Cuevas said the center aims to free the police-parents from worries of their children and to benefit the indigent children from the barangays surrounding Camp Martin Delgado.
“The parents have no financial obligation for their children enrolled in the center. It’s absolutely for free,” Cuevas said adding that he is thankful for the support of the CSWDO for the project. (POI Jeramae C Rio)
