Uprooted marijuana plants in Talisay
BACOLOD CITY -- Talisay City PNP recovered five marijuana plants planted in a pot inside the compound of Myrna Villanueva, a resident of Barangay Dos Hermanas.
Police Superintendent Thomas Joseph Martir, chief of Talisay City Police Station, said their operation was conducted after they received information from a concerned individual.
He described the seized marijuana plants less than a foot tall.
In an interview, Villanueva claimed that the said plants were owned by a certain Aaron Villanueva, who was not around when the local police arrived in the area for the seizure operation.
The police will file appropriate charges against the suspect(s).
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office through the leadership of Senior Supt. Manuel Felix has so far conducted a total of 20 operations that led to the arrest of 22 suspects and the filing of cases for Violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile in Bacolod City, Police Station 2 personnel led by Senior Police Officer 1 Hermelo Jalandoni, Head of the Intelligence and Investigative Section, with Police Officer’s 2 Benjamin Jamora and Roberto Torreno were able to apprehend Jared Banay, 28 years old, single of Purok 3 in Barangay Magsungay, this city, for illegal possession of suspected “Shabu”.
Police Station 2 conducted follow up operation at 25th Calamba Street in Barangay 1 early Friday morning that led to the apprehension of the said suspect. Banay acted suspiciously and attempted to flee the said area when the operatives arrived. Recovered from the possession and control of Banay was One (1) small plastic sachet containing suspected “Shabu” that was placed inside a coin purse which he took from his pocket that dropped in front of the said police officers.
Banay is also a suspect for the increase of “Robbery Hold-up” and “Bukas Kotse” incidents in the area of 25th Calamba Street in Barangay 1. Suspect is presently detained at the lock up cell of Police Station 2.
