European software developer sets up Asia office in Iloilo
An international software developer has set up its Asia office in Tigbauan, Iloilo.
The RS2 Software, based in the Republic of Malta in Southern Europe, inaugurated its office in Barangay Tan Pael in a simple ceremony last April 28.
“The new premises, situated in the municipality of Tigbauan, Iloilo, will serve as the company’s base in Asia. RS2 is currently carrying out various marketing initiatives in the region,” according to statement issued by the company.
Mario Schembri, RS2 Software chief executive officer, said they have been seeking to set up an office in Asia because of the region's business opportunities.
The two-story office will provide software development and supporter services to the company's clients worldwide, he said.
The company said it will launch a recruitment drive and will initially hire 25 employees.
“We augur that this venture will serve to create new employment opportunities in the Philippines within the field of IT,” said Schembri.
RS2 is the latest business process outsourcing firm that has set up office in Iloilo. Iloilo City already hosts at least five call centers and two more have expressed interest in setting sites here.
