Electric Masskara Dance undergoes innovation
BACOLOD CITY -- Masskara Festival Director Francis Eli Tajanlangit presented last Saturday an innovation to the electric Masskara dance that could be expected in this year's Masskara Festival.
Tajanlangit along with Mayor Evelio Leonardia launched last Saturday at the Manokan Country during the second day of First Inasal Chicken Festival the view of what will be expected in this year's Masskara affairs and they also unveiled the logo and theme as part of the activity.
"We are going to give the public the view of what Masskara 2009 will look like. We are transforming the dance parade for electric Masskara through gymnast and skate dancing," Tajanlangit said.
He added that the "Ferrero St. fronting the Manokan Country, will be transformed into an electric Masskara strip and a short sneak preview of what is in store for October in Lacson St. will be shown."
The Festival Director had put up "mini stages" in front of Manokan Country last Saturday wherein various performers displayed their gymnastic talents and skate dancing. "This is now different as some people view in a usual electric Masskara dance last year," Tajanlangit added.
After the unveiling of logo for Masskara 2009 as part of the first chicken inasal festival, the city likewise showcased the fireworks display that was witnessed by thousands of Bacoleños.
On the other hand, the First Chicken Inasal longest grill will be displayed tomorrow at the Parking Lot of SM Bacolod. Councilor Alex Paglumutan said that they have invited Senator Francisco "Chiz" Escudero to grace the affairs.
The 5 kilometers longest Inasal Grill will be documented by the New Guiness Book of World Record. The 6-day festival started last Friday with a grand parade participated by various chicken inasal vendors at Manokan Country. During the opening of this grand affair, the Boracay Dancers and the Masskara Dancers performed before thousands of visitors that witnessed said activity.
