Josephian teachers speak out
For thirty-seven years of existence, St. Joseph School (Iloilo), Inc. has proven its worth in catering quality Christian education. This exemplary education is realized by attaining the set of objectives through the guidance of its patron – St. Joseph. SJS became one of the pillars in nurturing and molding productive citizens of the country.
The Josephian teachers prefer and stayed in SJS for almost two decades already. Thus, the Josephian Spirit lives in the heart of every Josephian teacher.
Teacher Lea who stayed for 23 long years said, “Josephian Spirit is a true Christian spirit that will last for a lifetime.”
“It is the real sense or significance of any Josephian who lives up to the ideals, principles and values of the school,” says Teacher Weng who remained in the school for 21 years.
According to Teacher Terry who has been in SJS for two decades Josephian Spirit covers all attributes and qualities of St. Joseph which we imbued amongst our students.
SJS's philosophy is to provide a wholistic formation which the home alone cannot give and to closely collaborate with the latter in the different aspects of formation which the school can provide. Moreover, the school is true to its mission and vision.
For Teacher Bobsie, Sir Rey and Teacher Jovy who happened to be in SJS for 17, 16, and 15 years, respectively, agreed and said, “St. Joseph enables us to live life with pride and confidence because of St. Joseph's ideals of teaching.”
Thirteen is the lucky years for these teachers who preferred to stay in the school, Teacher Cheza and Teacher Agnes even mentioned, “SJS is a Christ-centered school that caters to the spiritual needs of every Josephian. It is one of the finest schools in Region VI. Moreover, a decade of teaching enables us to see that the Josephian's secret of sweet success is sweat.”
Tres Maestras' Teacher Stella, Teacher Cecil, and Teacher Eden enjoyed their 12-year stay in SJS and one in saying, “Most of the students who prefer to study at St. Joseph are guided with confidence in facing their future endeavors not only in academics but also in the fields of their individual talents and skills, records, remarks and feedback can attest that success and the way of life of the students is somehow attributed to the wholistic development and growth of the children required during the formative years spent here in SJS.”
And for Teacher Ming in her eleven years in SJS commented on the school's provision of a “Christian quality education through an integral formation of the person as a response to the pressing demands for an authentic education and well-informed and functioning members of society who are empowered to make lasting commitments for others as exemplified by the virtues of our patron, St. Joseph.”
SJS is known to be one of the good schools not only in Iloilo but throughout the country. The school has its own identity and stands out among others in terms of providing quality education. The school marks its name not only in the academics but also in the field of sports and journalism and the best training ground for leaders. Thus, this rare kind of education molds students to become able and productive citizens that answer to the great challenge of a competitive world of education.
