NEA recognizes Gasambelo leadership as valid
BACOLOD CITY -- The National Electrification Administration (NEA) through its Deputy Administrator for Electric District on Utilities Services Edgardo Piamonte recently affirmed and recognized the leadership of Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) Board President Edward Gasambelo.
The NEA officials also expressed that the approval of 20 items or Board Resolutions which was passed when Gasambelo took over the authority from Atty. Vicente Sabornay were all valid.
Piamonte wrote a letter to Mr. Gasambelo last May 15, 2009 which was also addressed to all members of the Ceneco board stating that his office interposes no objection to the approved resolutions like board resolution 8468-A series of 2009 approving and conferring the appointment of Atty. Enrique Tabino as the New Officer-In-Charge-Office of the General Manager (OIC-OGM) and to authorize Atty. Tabino to sign and represent Ceneco in all contracts entered into by the cooperative and to perform all official duties.
The controversial resolution of Ceneco board was also affirmed by NEA or Resolution 8492 Series of 2009 stating the Ceneco's Security Guards should adhere to the March 20, 2008 instruction coming from the Office of the President wherein Engr. Erlo Sajo and Atty. Vicente Sabornay cannot enter the coop's premises until the cases are resolved.
Gasambelo thanked the decision of the NEA acknowledging his acts as valid and legal. The only board resolution which was not granted by the NEA is the resolution no. 8538 series of 2009 to allocate P5,000 per board member every quarterly meeting to be taken from the revenue items and from the general fund since this matter would still be studied by the Office of the NEA Deputy Administrator.
