PNP ready for the opening of classes: Noppo chief
BACOLOD CITY -- Provincial Police Director Sr. Supt. Manuel Felix said that the state of preparation of the police is now 100 percent and is very much ready for the opening of classes in June.
Through the “Balik Eskwela” program, he said the police will secure school premises and also in areas where people converge.
They will also maintain maximum police visibility to discourage occurrence of crimes such as snatching and hold-ups while raffic enforcers and police on foot and mobile patrols will be deployed to assist students, he said in a recent television interview over ABS-CBN’s “The Morning Show.”
The authorities will further address the expected increase and proliferation of illegal drugs. He revealed they have already started to intensify their anti-drugs campaign to reduce demand for the said item.
“We would like this (anti-drug campaign) to be a campaign of the whole community because it is everybody’s concern.”
Sr. Supt. Felix said they will be conducting symposia in the elementary, high school and college levels in coordination with the parents and the different schools in the city.
