Problematic Smart Bro
A subscriber of Smart Bro wireless internet has shared about the deplorable experience he had with the said product. He availed of the product on December 2007 thinking that it will help him with his internet connection. Upon application he was made to pay P999 as advance deposit. Each month he also pays the same amount as regular fee. By the middle of the year the subscriber encountered problems with his internet connection, it usually don't have signal so he brought the matter to the attention of the company. Personnel from Smart tried to fix the problem but it keeps on recurring every month. Because of poor service the subscriber decided to have his connection stopped but he was told that he has to pay a penalty of P2,500 since the one-year contract has not yet lapsed. So, to avoid paying the penalty he just waited until Dec. 24, 2008, the expiry of his contract. By then he kept coming back to Smart office to ask for his rebates -- which was promised to him because of the poor service he suffered -- and the return of his deposit, but the staff told him that it is still being processed in Manila. Until now or about five months since he had his connection stopped the money due him was not yet released. Irate the subscriber had his experience blottered to the city proper police station to serve as warning to the public not to get victimized by the same company.
Region 6 not included
The Civil Service Commission yesterday came out with full page advertisement in a national newspaper congratulating and thanking national agencies, local government units, state colleges and universities, and government corporations that implemented the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007. The advertisement enumerated agencies and institutions that complied with the provisions of Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007 particularly on the posting of Citizens Charters, setting up of help desks, and crackdown on fixers. Noticeably, however, no agency or institution from Region 6 or Western Visayas was included in the list. In other words wala gid sang may nagsunod sa Anti-Red Tape Act diri sa aton! Ay sus kahuluya!
