DSB declared summer capital of Negros Occ.
BACOLOD CITY -- Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB), the town founded by 1st District Board Member Nehemias “Nene” dela Cruz is now the official Summer Capital of the province of Negros Occidental after it gained the approval of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in its regular session the other day.
Dela Cruz authored the said Ordinance which declared his beloved hometown as the summer capital of the province.
The declaration will pave the way to more tourism developments in the said municipality.
It has committed to develop infrastructures like banking, trade, commerce, tourist accommodations and a government center for the Provincial Governor and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
DSB has proven itself worthy of being declared as the Summer Capital of the province.
The town is known for its cool and temperate climate all year round, the coldest being 12 degrees Celsius to 16 degrees Celsius in December to February and 18 degrees to 27 degrees Celsius, which is suitable for family and group activities.
Its main attributes include the existence of flora and fauna which are unique to the place and investors have showed interest thereon.
The town is surrounded by mountainous terrain outlined by a well maintained zigzag highway which provides an abundant view of its gorges, hills, ravines, rivers and waterfalls.
DSB is also an ideal location for tourism development being accessible from all geographical directions and connected by an extensive, well-maintained network of national highways to Sagay City in the north, Kanlaon City in the south, San Carlos City in the east and Bacolod City in the west.
Its close proximity to Bacolod City, seaports of the said city and San Carlos City and Bacolod-Silay airport makes tourism development ideal in the town of DSB.
