Mobile Passporting Service in Antique, June 12
SAN JOSE, Antique – In an effort to bring the services of government closer to the clients, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Government of Antique will hold a Mobile Passporting Service on June 12 in observance of the 111th Independence Day.
Mobile Passporting will be held simultaneously with the Jobs Fair at Binirayan Gymnasium, San Jose, Antique. DFA officials will facilitate the issuance of Machine Readable Passport to interested applicants, said Marrieta C. Belleza, Human Resource Officer, Province of Antique.
DFA has been issuing the Machine Readable Passport (MRP). The maroon-colored MRP contains a data summary in a format that is capable of being read by machine.
The MRP meets all the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization, and facilitates the passport check at port of entry, increases the credibility of Philippine passports and better secures the holder’s identity. (DFA news)
All countries in the world now issue and use MRPs.
Passport application requirements include personal appearance and submission of the completed application form, 3 colored passport photos with royal blue background, authenticated birth certificate ( NSO issued in security paper) and at least two government-issued identification cards and documents proving the applicant’s identity and citizenship. For married women, a marriage contract in security paper issued by NSO is required.
The DFA charges P750.00 for expedited processing of passport.
The applicants are requested to come early in the venue and follow the procedure in processing of requirements to ensure smooth flow of the activity. Likewise, they are requested to have their supporting papers photocopied to avoid delay. There are about 300 applicants expected on that day, said Belleza.
This year’s theme of Independence day celebration is “Kagitingan, Kagalinga, Kasipagan: Tungo sa Tunay na Kalayaan”. (PS Mabaquiao/PIA)
