City to extend cash assistance to PNP retirees
BACOLOD CITY -- Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP) Member Alex Paglumotan along with SP Members Al Victor Espino and Roberto Rojas sponsored yesterday for first reading an "Ordinance Granting a Lifetime Old Age Assistance in the amount of One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) Monthly to the retired members of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) including the former PC/INP retirees, upon reaching the age of sixty (60) and appropriating the funds for its purpose.”
Paglumotan said that the SP of Bacolod City under the incumbency of Mayor Evelio Leonardia as local chief executive and through their desirous initiative to provide assistance to all the retirees of the BCPO-PNP including the former PC/INP retirees not only as a matter of policy direction, but as a gesture of gratitude to those who have labored so hard, by way of rendering selfless service/s in the pursuit of law and order and social justice in our community.
The proposed ordinance also creates the Old Sustainability Assistance Allowance for retirees like those who have served the BCPO-PNP or the former PC INP at least fifteen years of service at the time of retirement or separation from the service.
Meanwhile, Paglumotan as chairman of the Committee on Markets respectfully requested through a resolution the City Administrator's Office as head of the Socio-Economic Enterprises Office of Bacolod City to continue the periodic flashing via the Bureau of Fire Department of all existing three (3) major public markets, namely, the Libertad South, Burgos North and Central Market in order to address various complaints from the buying public.
Paglumotan passed a resolution after answering the basic need of the buying public though the city has been doing this kind of operation before. Said resolution was unanimously passed in yesterday's Regular Session.
