Hinobaan residents want Zayco as governor
BACOLOD CITY -- When Governor Isidro Zayco visited Hinobaan town Thursday, the governor was met with posters and placards urging him to run for governor in 2010 elections.
The residents said they need Zayco as governor, and not contented with the news that he will return to Kabankalan as mayor.
Zayco earlier said that, if he had his choice, he would rather run for mayor of Kabankalan City.
Several officials in the province signified through petitions and resolutions urging him to go for the governorship in 2010.
But Zayco said this would all depend on the decision of the party later since the pronouncement is not yet fina. He said he will abide with it if decided before the filing of certificate of candidacy.
As a party rule, equity of the incumbent is always followed to prevent further conflict or to make sure winner during elections.
The governor thanked them for their trust and confidence saying that there is still a lot of time before the 2010 elections. He is confident that it will resolve the soonest time possible for the people also to be at ease.
Zayco assumed office as governor when the late Governor Joseph Marañon died last year.
