BCPO joins stakeholder’s forum on R.A 9231
The ABK 2 Initiative “Pag-aaral ng Bata sa Kinabukasan” - Christian Children’s Fund – Philippines; Department of Labor and Employment – Region 6 and the Gender and Development Council of Bacolod City under the Chairmanship of Honorable Jocelle Batapa-Sigue organized the Stakeholders Forum on Republic Act 9231 in connection with the celebration of World Day Against Child Labor Friday at the Technology and Livelihood Center in Bacolod City.
Said forum were participated by different Government Organizations and Non-Government Organizations and Local Government Units of Bacolod; Silay and Talisay Cities including police officers of Bacolod City Police Office represented by Senior Police Officer 1 Rey Jereos, Assistant Chief of the BCPO Police Community Relations Branch and Police Officer’s 1 Jennifer Liba and Leilanie Lupase of the Women’s and Children’s Protection Center (WCPC).
Provincial Education Officer of ABK 2/CCF-P Ligaya Siana gave the overview of the said forum and its objectives; Atty. Batapa-Sigue gave the welcome remarks and Mary Agnes Capigon, Chief of the Labor Enforcement Division of DOLE 6 discussed Republic Act 9231.
R.A 9231 is “an act providing for the elimination of the worst forms of child labor and affording stronger protection for the working child”. (PO1 Jared Esquilla)
