Dingle public market fire causes over P1.5M damage
The seven-hour fire that gutted nearly half of the public market of Dingle, Iloilo caused over 1.5 million in estimated damage.
This, as arson investigators concluded its probe on Sunday’s incident believed to have originated at a carinderia by the dry goods section.
Reports placed the time of incident at about 2am with teams from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) here and nearby towns responding.
The News Today (TNT) in a report gathered that efforts to put out the fire reached about 9 in the morning. Locals aided the fire personnel present as local police kept the area secured.
The estimated damage was reached after an extensive inventory on the supplies lost by the market vendors on the fire.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
