Six poverty alleviation projects in WV completed
The Philippine Army Engineering Brigade through its 552nd Engineering Battalion has already completed the construction of six poverty alleviation projects under the Kalayaan Barangays Program (KBP) in Western Visayas.
The projects are implemented by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) as part of its commitment under the peace process agreement with the Revolutionary Proletariat Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB).
The projects are five units of school buildings built in Barangay San Ramon in Malinao, Aklan; Barangay Magbato, Lambunao; Barangay Abangay, Janiuay; and Barangay Cansilayan, Tigbauan all in Iloilo and Barangay San Vicente, Culasi, Antique.
A one-unit health center was also completed in Barangay Malinao, Aklan.
On the other hand, there is an ongoing construction of 11 projects to include six school buildings, two access roads, one unit health center and a water system.
The OPAPP through the KBP is expected to complete 83 projects in Western Visayas composed of 19 school buildings, six health centers, 18 electrification projects, 19 water system and 21 rehabilitation and construction of roads. (PNA)
