2,000 new BPO jobs await Bacoleños – Leonardia
BACOLOD CITY -- Mayor Evelio Leonardia announced over the weekend that there will be 2,000 new jobs available for Bacoleños with the opening of Transcom Asia, the newest call center to operate in Bacolod, sometime in September.
Leonardia, together with Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, met Thursday with Transcom Asia country manager Seva Sobramaniam to discuss the details of the opening of Transcom Asia in Bacolod.
Transcom Asia will begin with 800 personnel in September and will be hiring more until they come up with the required number of employees, Sobramaniam said.
Both Leonardia and Sayson were elated with the latest development in the BPO industry in the city, saying that it is an indication that call center companies are recognizing the capabilities of Bacoleños.
They also assured the country manager of the city government’s full support to Transcom Asia in terms of quality manpower and security.
