Brothers in Art
Sextrip.
Bogie Alvarado and Nuklar Alvarado's exhibit “Brothers in Art” opened last June 26 and will end on July 15 at the PHINMA Gallery, Negros Museum, Bacolod City.
These two young men are the sons of one of the famous Negrense artist Nunelucio “Nune” Alvarado, known for his stylized depiction of the dark side of humanity. Bogie and Nuklar are following their father’s footsteps but maintaining their own style and identity.
Bogie Alvarado's works on acrylic on canvas and pen and ink, show the symbols of death, agony, problems, how wicked the world is, religion, and even happiness. For him, we all feel these emotions, depending on the “cross” that we are carrying.
Nuklar Alvarado's works are on oil on canvas and pen and ink. His artworks portray his lifestyle and the people around him. One example is “Paint Warrior”, that shows how busy people are; that they need to work double time in order to live.
Brothers in blood. Brothers in art, indeed.
