RTWPB holds training for hotel and restaurants
A two-day service quality training for the hotel and restaurant industry in Iloilo facilitated by the Regional Tripartite, Wage and Productivity Board (RTWPB) started yesterday.
RTWPB officer-in-charge and board secretary Nesa Nolido said the activity is part of their productivity training to improve the service handling of the industry which has been identified as key employment generator.
“We would equip workers and management of skills for an error-free service,” she said.
She added that they will be introducing soft skills for them to respond better to their customers’ expectation aside from their usual services on table handling and as waitress or waiter.
The training is attended by around 40 participants coming from the 18 members of the Iloilo Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants Association (IHRRA).
The participants will be asked to prepare a re-entry plan which they will implement when they go back to their workplace.
The re-entry plan will ensure that their learning during the training will be re-echoed to other workers in the establishment.
“We will be monitoring their improvement based on their plans,” she added.
Nolido added that aside from the training that will be launched on Wednesday, their office also conducts regular productivity awareness program and good housekeeping seminar to help employees to become productive.
These programs, she said, are free such that those who are interested to avail are encouraged to just get in touch with their office. (PNA)
