According to Governor Perez, despite the political distractions, the province is still fervent in upgrading and developing its health sector.
Guided by a Memorandum of Agreement, the expansion of the ASMGH is being funded by the Department of Health - Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) which totals to P9.6 million pesos. Another P24 million, which is a part of the HFEP. Some P17 million will go to ASMGH while the remaining P7 million will go to Bugasong Medicare Community Hospital for its infrastructure. Of the P17-million fund for ASMGH, P10 million will be used for the infrastructure and P7 million for its equipment.

According to OIC- Provincial Health Officer Dr. Zoilo Bernardo Tubianosa, some of the funds will be for licensing and maintenance of the hospital.
According to Valencia many people are going to other provinces nowadays just to be treated, but he believes that with the addition of 16 pay wards and rooms, there will be an increase in the income of the hospital and improved care for the Antiqueños.
He also added that he is hoping to see that Angel Salazar will be the premiere hospital in the province and will cater not only to those who can pay but more importantly to those who cannot.
Vice-Governor Rhodora Cadiao also announced that in the next few sessions of the Sanggunian, they will be able to ratify the P100-million loan that they’ve asked from Landbank and the Development Bank of the Philippines.
