Service as Self-Completeness

There are people who are born to do more things possible at the same time. However, it is not just working with anything for nothing. It is living with your fate. Showered with such great tasks are not penalties that you have to pay for no man is chosen as guide without trust.
One of them is KC Joy Tolentino Singgo, 19, of St. Paul University Iloilo, a fourth year Nursing student, inclined for multitasking. Accepting responsibilities such as being the university president is a big challenge in shaping her personality.
As the eldest, she must serve as a good model to her younger brother. She is now living with her family in Manuela Subdivision in Leganes. Leaders are born to be intelligent also and so she got the second honourable mention during elementary at Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus, and graduated in high school with high honors in the University of the Philippines.

“I am second honorable mention because in our school before we don’t have valedictorian instead we have first and second honorable mention,” KC said.
However, one of her greatest achievements was when she received the award as a Batang Leader here in Iloilo City that was a project by Vice Mayor Jed Mabilog. During college, one of her unforgettable experiences was when she entered the Paulinian Supreme Cauncil (PSC) of St. Paul University Iloilo wherein she met new friends and it also molded her to be a good public servant.
KC spent almost three years in serving PSC— two years as a senator and now she is the newly elected president of the said school organization. Attending some of the leadership seminars like TPSLC (The Paulinian Student Leaders Congress) greatly helped her in her leadership skills. It is not her first time to be the president because she used to be the president of UPSCA which means University of the Philippines Student Catholic Action wherein they teach catechism, daily mass and gift giving.
KC meets with PSC officers.
She is not just active in school but also in church. She is a part of the Youth for Christ in her hometown. Being a good leader is having great faith in God. Few are so well blessed because of having that greatest love for Christ. When she had her vacation in Hong Kong, she bought a prayer book compiled by Pope John Paul II before he died, which she considered it as a charm.
“I used to bring this one wherever I go. And in every church I go to, especially if it was my first time, I let it blessed by the priest with the use of Holy water. I always use it when I pray and when I ask something from God. I think it is effective if you only believe in him,” KC said.
The person that inspired her most was Hansel Panes, PSC president of AY 2008-2009. According to her, this man said that she should go out of her shell for she had the potential to lead that all she have to do is to be brave and prove that she is worth it for the position as the new PSC President.
“My greatest dream in life is so simple to go to heaven and see God. One of my professors when I was in High School said “the man’s greatest dream in life is not merely gaining all the material things he wanted but to see God personally in heaven” and in that line I was really inspired. I came to realize that when we die, we could not bury with us all the material things we have,” KC said.
This lady always says that she wishes that nobody will be poor, everybody to be equal so that there will be no chaos in this world. She is still not contented because for her, there are lots of things that she must learn and one of these is how to sustain lives productively. This wish is somewhat related to the course she has, because she wants to help for the common good.
KC is a good adviser. She provides solutions to the problem of others and she is friendly enough to welcome you in her life.
KC is one of a kind. She is one in a million—one of the million who wanted to be completed through service.
