Tanco's chief of staff resigns
ROXAS CITY – The chief of staff of Capiz Governor Victor Tanco, Sr. resigned from his position last Tuesday.
Mr. Racky Olandia, Executive Assistant III, submitted his irrevocable resignation to the governor that will take effect today, July 16, confirmed Gov. Tanco.
Tanco, however, said that he does not know the reason why his chief of staff resigned from his position.
Tanco said Olandia has a good performance as his chief of staff where he was tasked to make some communication letters and speeches every time the governor has a speaking engagement.
Olandia was appointed Gov. Tanco's chief of staff in 2007. Before his appointment as chief of staff, he worked as head at the Gerry Roxas Foundation.
However, sources told The News Today (TNT) that Olandia was pressured to resign from his post as graceful exit because he was rumored to be responsible for the organization of the youth in Pontevedra for Tanco's opponent in the next election.
However, the said report was not confirmed by Gov. Tanco nor Olandia who is still silent on the issue as of press time.
Olandia was said to be a supporter of Former Department of Agriculture (DA) Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante relative to the latter’s bid for governor.
Tanco is facing Bolante for gubernatorial race in the 2010 national and local elections.
