BACOLOD CITY -- More than a week after the series of bombings in Mindanao and as the investigation continues, the possibility of another bombing is always there since terrorists knows no place and time.
In the wake of the bombings which killed and injured many civilians, Malacañang urges the public to be vigilant while remaining calm as the Armed Forces of the Philippines is doing its job.
Press Secretary Cerge Remonde assured that the police and military authorities are getting closer to identifying the terrorists responsible for the bombings.
Col. Maximo Caro, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander of the Philippine Army, when asked of the chances on possible spill over of the bombings in the province said that although the possibility is always there but the chance is very nil.
“It (bombings) is being attended to in Mindanao so there is no reason that they can reach Negros,” Caro told PIA.
The military in Negros Occidental is ready and is coordinating with other forces like the Coastguard and the PNP.
“We have close working relationships, the Philippine Army is very willing to support the uniformed organizations in the province that are in need of their services,” Caro added.
Remonde also made the appeal to the people to be calm while urging them “not to yield the day to political harlots who wish to profit from the unsettled situation.” (PIA/EAD)
