Bacolod’s progress impresses Fil-Chi business group
Members and officials of the Filipino-Chinese business group were all one in giving a “thumbs-up” on the rate of progress and development in Bacolod City.
Beautiful and progressive,” summed up the impressions as highlighted by Dr. Alfonso A. Uy, Federation President of the Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. in the Philippines.
Uy was in town for the 23rd Induction of Officers and Directors of the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. Credit, Uy said, goes to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

Dr. Uy, was Keynote Speaker and Inducting Officer in ceremonies held Saturday.
According to Dr. Uy, Bacolod is a promising city that offers opportunities for investments, commerce and industrial development. With its rich resources, friendly people and colorful traditions, it has very strong potential for domestic and foreign investment and tourism, he said.
He also thanked the provincial and city officials attending the affair for the support they have given to the Chamber and the Federation’s operations dubbed as Barrio Schools Project. He reported that a total of 421 school buildings donation pledges were gathered during their Federation pledging session during their convention April of this year.
Inducted into office is the new President of the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Inc., Atty. Benjamin Ortega, along with other officers and directors.
Mayor was also the Guest Speaker for the event.
