OWWA help desk helps Capiceños
ROXAS CITY – A help desk put up by the provincial government of Capiz in collaboration with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has been helping a lot of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and their relatives.
“The help desk assists in the OFW’s application for loans, complaints, and inquiries, among others,” said Provincial Planning and Development Office employee and OWWA Help Desk Officer Salim Biclar.
The joint project is in line with President Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo’s agenda to attend the needs and promote the OFWs welfare.
Recently, President Arroyo has brought home from her recent working state visits the commitment of employers from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Algeria, Libya and Bahrain.
This accomplishment is posted in the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) website and other national daily print advertisement named “Strengthening Bonds Miles for Progress.”
The other achievements of the Arroyo administration towards the promotion of OFWs welfare also include the commutation of sentence of the emir of Kuwait on domestic helper Marilou Ranario.
The advertisement also noted that more Filipino nurses will be sent to Japan under the Japan – Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA). (PIA/A.Lumaque)
