Gov. Marañon Building inaugurated at Bago City College
BACOLOD CITY — Gov. Isidro P. Zayco together with the Bago City Government led by Mayor Ramon D. Torres inaugurated a two-storey, 14-room building named after the late Governor Joseph G. Marañon at the Bago City College (BCC) yesterday.
The edifice is dedicated by the school and the city government to the late Governor Marañon for its steadfast support to the people of Bago and for being an epitome of an excellent leader.
The provincial government allotted a P10 million fund for the construction of the said building while the city government of Bago shared 11.8 million pesos as counterpart.
Gov. Zayco lauded the Bago City College for its 29 years of excellence and for providing inexpensive yet quality education to students not only in Bago City but to its neighboring cities and municipalities in the province.
The governor also salutes the teachers and staff of the institution for its perseverance in strengthening the solidarity of the school and urges the students to grab every opportunity in acquiring quality education from institutions like Bago City College.
Meanwhile, Mayor Torres thanked Gov. Zayco for fulfilling the promise of the late Gov. Marañon and for the continued support of the Provincial Government to their city.
Dr. Ramona C. Lamo, College Administrator of BCC also expressed her gratitude to the provincial and city governments and assured them that the institution will serve as a springboard of quality provider of tertiary education.
Also present during the ceremony are Board Members Jose Benito A. Alonso and Mae C. Javellana, Vice Mayor Nicholas M. Yulo and the Sangguniang Panlunsod Members of Bago City. (Capitol News)
