KALIBO, Aklan — The Aklan provincial government is set to pay tribute to the country’s couple heroes, former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino and former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino through songs and dances slated on August 20.
Roselle Ruiz, Aklan provincial tourism officer, said the tribute will be part of the provincial government’s monthly Concert at the Park. This month’s event is dubbed “Sing and Dance for Freedom.’
“The event is designed to celebrate the country’s birth of freedom and democracy and at the same time as a tribute in honor of the late former President Cory Aquino and Senator Benigno Aquino, two prominent figures in the nation’s history who were significant instruments for freedom’s restoration,” Ruiz said.
The concert will also feature the presentations coming from different sectors such as the Jaycees Club, Rotary Club of Kalibo, Aklan Medical Society, Catholic Women’s League, Saint Gabriel College, Kiwanis Club of Kalibo, King Flute Philippines and the provincial government employees.
The country will commemorate the death anniversary of Ninoy on August 21. (PNA)
