Manapla holds 1st Lechon Festival
The Municipality of Manapla held its First Lechon Festival spearheaded by the Manapla Swine Producers Cooperative, as part of its 139th Fiesta Celebration, yesterday.
Themed, “Pagkakaisa ng Magbababoy Tungo sa Kaunlaran”, the activity started with a motorcade around the main streets of Manapla followed by an opening program and a seminar on Swine Management and Diseases attended by Manapla swine producers.
The activity was capped by an “eat-all-you-can” part, with a total of nine lechons served for the participants and guests.
Sponsoring the event were 2nd District Board Member Miller V. Serondo, 2nd District Rep. Alfredo D. Marañon, III, Manapla Mayor Manuel M. Escalante, III, Provincial Veterinary Office, Manapla Agriculture Office, Alliance of Hog Raisers Association in Negros Occidental (AHRANO), Manapla Swine Producers Cooperative (MSPC), B-Meg Feeds, and Sarimanok Hog Feeds.
Also present in the activity were Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena; MSPC president Albert Javier; Rey Dela Rama and Rodney Ta-ala, AHRANO president and vice president, respectively; and Sagay City Executive Assistant to the Mayor Arthur Christopher Marañon who represented Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., among others.
