Tay Tung alumni back feeding program of Bantay Bata 163 Negros
As part of its advocacy to ensure the rights of the children, especially in providing them with their basic needs, Bantay Bata 163 Negros is conducting a Supplemental Feeding Program to 100 malnourished children in Handumanan Elementary School, Bacolod City.
This is their pilot activity in the province under its Bantay Kalusugan Program. This worthwhile initiative will not be possible without the support of Tay Tung High School Alumni Association, through its president, Mr. Elbert Valencia. This is also part of Tay Tung’s outreach activity in celebration of its Diamond Jubilee Year slated on September 22-27, 2009.
The Supplemental Feeding Program, which will feed the beneficiaries five times a week, was launched last June 20, 2009, with activities such as a medical mission and a soup kitchen program for 500 beneficiaries. The feeding proper started last June 22, 2009 and will culminate on August 25, 2009.
Aside from the Feeding Program, Bantay Bata 163 Negros regularly conducts advocacies to parents, teachers and other stakeholders on important topics such as child abuse, parenting skills and responsible parenthood. A school garden will also be created as part of the feeding program’s sustainable project.
Bantay Bata 163 Negros invites other generous groups and individuals to support its activities under the Community Outreach Program. Aside from this, donations for its beneficiaries under the Medical Assistance Program are also welcome. For more information, please contact Bantay Bata 163 Negros at (034) 433-9071.
