Sapian mayor vows full support Sen. Roxas
SAPIAN, Capiz – Mayor Arturo “Turic” Orosco, Sr. vowed that he is 99.9 percent in support of whatever is Sen. Mar Roxas’s political plans in 2010 election.
This was the assurance of Orosco after Sen. Roxas declared support last week to Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s presidential bid.
Earlier, Orosco, whose family-run school St. Francis of Asisi is located in Las Piñas City, was hesitant in supporting Sen. Roxas’s presidential bid since he is said to be a political ally of Sen. Manny Villar because of his business in Las Piñas City.
It was learned that Las Piñas City under the leadership of Cong. Cynthia Villar, wife of Sen. Manny Villar, gave heavy equipment to Sapian such as garbage trucks and computers.
With this latest political development, Orosco said that as a Capiceño, he has no reason not to support Sen. Roxas since there will already be no conflict between him (Roxas) and Villar.
Orosco also said that officials of Sapian will be all out in their support to Sen. Roxas for whatever political plans and even vowed to use his personal resources and influence in Aklan and in Manila to help the senator.
Meanwhile, hundreds of residents benefited the medical/dental mission of Orosco held at his residence last Sunday.
Part of the whole day affair was the bloodletting conducted by the Philippine National Red Cross.
According to Orosco, 10 cartons of medicine were given by the Philippines Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) regional office.
He added that the said medical mission is usually conducted twice a year by the municipality.
Vice Mayor Ralph Odrunia, who is a doctor of medicine by profession, and Dr. Oroco, Rural Health Physician of Sapian, 1st cousin of the mayor, also helped made the medical and dental mission possible.
