4-H Club members attend Enterprise Development Course
SAN JOSE, Antique – Members of the 4-H Club, an organization of rural youth from different towns in the province attended a Capability Enhancement Enterprise Development Course conducted by Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).
As an organization of rural youth (including the out-of-school–youth), 4-H Club play vital role in the growth and development of national economy. The training aims to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the youth towards effective management of the organization.
Aside from organizational development topics, enterprise development course on proper management practices of goat production and dispersal was discussed during the training where participants were taught to develop project proposal on Goat Raising/Production and were submitted to ATI for fund sourcing.
The 3-day activity was participated in by the following towns, San Jose, Sibalom, Tobias Fornier, Anini-y, Patnongon, Culasi, Hamtic, San Remigio, Bugasong, Sebaste, Pandan, Barbaza, Tibiao and Libertad.
The Department of Agriculture through the ATI has approved the operational budget of P200,000.00 to be shared by the 4-H club members who are interested to start a goat raising project.
Department of Agriculture and OPA will monitor the implementation of the project to ensure it serve its purpose of strengthening the organization, augment the income of its members that will eventually help in eradicating poverty in the countryside. (EAL & PSM /PIA)
