Mambusao exec padlocks 5 videoke bars
MAMBUSAO, Capiz – Mayor Jose “Joe” Alba padlocked five videoke bars here after they failed to secure mayor’s and business permits to operate legally.
In closure orders sent to each five owners of videoke bars dated September 8, Alba stated that effective September 11, the said business establishments are closed due to lack of required mayor and business permits.
Recipients of the closure orders were: Mr. Rey Lacopa, owner of Park View; Mrs. Lorna Diaz, Acasia KTV, Mr. Rodrigo Emolaga, TL Videoke Bar; Mrs. Vilma Luz, Bodega, all in Atiplo; and Wilson Villareal, Riverside Videoke Bar, Poblacion Tabuc, all are in this town.
Alba said that these business establishments were sent a series of notices and were given ample time to secure permits but they still failed to comply.
Alba said that the closure orders of these business establishments are temporary until such time they can meet with the requirements.
Alba said, he is not bothered with the forthcoming election in which these owners of the videoke bars might no longer support him adding that he must have a political will so that these business establishments will not operate illegally.
Meanwhile, Villareal said when reached by The News Today (TNT) that they are willing to secure permits but the timetable given by the office of the mayor is not enough for them to comply.
According to him, he already secured all requirements but he failed in sanitary permit since Dr. Dorothy Navarra, rural health physician, refused to grant the permit since she required a presentable building for videoke bars.
