Tourism Week kicks off in Kabankalan
The Tourism Week in Kabankalan City on the theme “Tourism – Celebrating Diversity” will be highlighted by a forum with Severino Pacente, Silay City tourism officer; Jennylind Cordero, provincial tourism officer and Christine Manzinares, Sipalay City tourism officer.
The forum will be held at 8 a.m. today at the Farmers Center will tackle topics on “The Role of Security and Education in Tourism”, by Pacete. “Tourism Significance on Economic Development by Cordero and Tourism and Environment by Manzinares. Students and teachers from public and private school are invited to attend.
There will be One-Town One-Product launching and induction of OTP producers and officers at the farmers center on Sept. 16. On Sept. 17, a tree planting by the city officials and employees will be held in Mag-aso Falls.
Sept. 18 will be highlighted by “Kasadyahan sa Kabankalan” a musical program showcasing Philippine culture followed by a tourism quiz in the afternoon sponsored by the NOCECO Toastmasters Club.
A body painting dubbed as “Lawas Tali-ambong” will be held at the city Freedom Park and sponsored by Du-ag, an association of artists in the city on Sept. 19. (Eddie Yap)
