Rob-slay suspect claims he was mauled by victim’s family
ROXAS CITY – The suspect in the robbery and killing of a 64-year old businesswoman here recently claimed that he was mauled by his victim’s family inside the police station.
Beltran Enoslay showed to this writer the bruises he suffered because of the mauling.
Enoslay blamed the police for allowing the family of his victim Noeme Sonsuna to get close to him reason why he was punched several times.
The police, however, strongly denied Enoslay’s allegation.
Earlier, Enoslay, 44, a native of Dao and resident of Alba Village, Dinginan, Roxas City admitted that he and a certain alyas Nonoy killed Sonsuna and carted away cash and jewelries, however, he spared companions Ferdinand Amaller, 51, a native of Masbate and Pablo Bacanto, 27, of Pilar, Capiz from the crime.
Enoslay said he only implicated Bacanto and Amaller in the rob-slay since their wives revealed to the police that the looted money and jewelries were kept in his house.
Enoslay, who was a distant relative and driver of the victim, also said that he only got some P70,000 and assorted jewelries while his companion alyas Nonoy got almost double of his share.
Enoslay denied that the money they took away from the victim was P500,000 but was only around P200,000.
Amaller was freed while Bacanto is still detained at the lock-up cell of Roxas City police station.
Last September 17, police arrested the three suspects in connection with the rob-slay of a businesswoman at Alba Village, Roxas City.
The arrest of the three suspects was made possible through a deaf-mute witness who described the suspects through signs languages.
According to Libas Brgy Captain Solomon Alisasis, the witness saw the suspects emerged from the scene of incident at around 2 a.m. last Friday prompting him to follow up with the police.
The suspects were later traced up at their residence with recoveries of cash and jewelries.
The jewelries were identified by Wilfred Sunsona, husband of the victim at the police station. He was not around during the incident.
The Sunsona couple engaged in the business of hog raising and fishing at Libas, Roxas City.
