Congressionables
Feisty lady City Councilor Perla Zulueta is being offered by the camp of Vice Mayor Jed Mabilog to run for representative of the lone district of Iloilo City in the 2010 election. An insider told Bull’s Eye that a meeting was initially made between Zulueta and Mabilog where the latter reportedly assured to shoulder all of the expenses in case Zulueta accepts the offer to run for congresswoman. Zulueta has yet to confirm the report but in the event she accepts it the congressional bets for Iloilo City would be composed of Zulueta, Raul Gonzalez Jr., Mansing Malabor, Atty. Dan Cartagena, and Atty. Benjie Gengos. By the way a certain group is spearheading a signature campaign to push for Mayor Jerry Treñas to also run for congressman. Unfortunately, persistent reports say that Mayor Jerry has already committed to Sec. Raul Gonzalez Sr. that he will run for vice mayor under the formidable Gonzalez camp.
Obet vs. Richard
In the provincial level, a radio survey showed that comebacking ex-Vice Governor Obet Armada is leading the vice gubernatorial race compared to his good friend BM Richard Garin especially in the third district of Iloilo. However, many political observers do not believe the so-called survey. One observer, upon learning of the survey result, even hollered: “Paano sya (Obet) magdaug sa pagka-vice governor nga si Oca man sang una ang nagpadaug sa iya? Subong nga bata ni Oca kontra ya paano sya magdaug?” What do you think Abdul?
