2 suspects charged for rob-slay of 64-year old bizwoman
ROXAS CITY – Two suspects in the robbery and killing of a 64-year old businesswoman were charged with robbery with homicide yesterday before the city prosecutor’s office here at the Roxas City Hall of Justice.
Charged were Beltran Enoslay, 44, a native of Dao, Capiz and resident of Alba Village, Dinginan, Roxas City and brother-in-law Pablo Bacanto, 27, of Pilar, Capiz.
Businesswoman Noeme Sonsuna of Purok 1, Libas, Roxas City, was found lifeless last September 11. She bore many stabbed wounds at different parts of her body resulting to her instant death. The family claimed that some P500,000 and P200,000 worth of assorted jewelries were carted away by the perpetrators.
Enoslay, Bacanto and Ferdinand Amaller, 51, a native of Masbate, were arrested by the police after they were pointed by a deaf-mute witness.
Enoslay admitted to the crime but spared Bacanto and Amaller who according to him were innocents saying that he only implicated them because he got irked with the duo because their wives revealed that the cash and jewelries were kept at his house.
The police operatives recovered some P49,500 cash and assorted jewelries at Enoslay’s house. The victim’s husband Wilson Sonsuna confirmed that the items were owned by his wife.
Enoslay, a former driver and distant relative of the victim, said that he only got his share in the amount of P70,000 while his companion a certain Nonoy got almost double of his share.
Amaller was freed since police established his innocence on the crime, however, Bacanto was still detained at the lock-up cell of the Roxas City PNP Station and included in the case although he was spared by Enoslay.
