DTI chief tackles CLEEP at info officers meeting
BACOLOD CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Director Rebecca Rascon is set to discuss the accomplishments of the agency on the Comprehensive Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP) during the meeting of Public Information Officers Tuesday, September 29.
DTI Information Officer Floressa May Castro said the director will discuss the entrepreneur component of the CLEEP program and update members of the Negros Association of Government Information Officers and Liaisons (NAGIOL) on the results of their campaigns. The meeting will be held at the Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) Bldg and will start at 9:00am.
Under the program, thousands of unemployed Filipinos were hired in various government offices across the country receiving a competitive salary to get them through difficult times.
President Gloria M. Arroyo ordered the implementation of an emergency employment scheme to ease local unemployment rate and address poverty.
In Region VI, close to 4,000 workers were hired in CLEEP program. The figure could reach to thousands more taking it on the national scale.
Information Officers will also elect their organization president as the current president- Public Information Office Chief Marlin Sanogal was promoted as Assistant Provincial Planning Officer while current vice- president Grizelda Arceño has recently retired. (PIA-LOL)
