Rep. Del Rosario awards scholarship grants to 142 students
ROXAS CITY – Some 142 poor but deserving students were awarded by 1st District Cong. Antonio del Rosario with scholarship grants and turned over the check in the amount of P500,000 for the tuition fees and allowance last Saturday afternoon at Espacio Verde Resort, Dayao here.
The distribution of scholarship grants is part of the scholarship program of Rep. Del Rosario in cooperation with the Commission on Higher Education-Region VI.
Recipients of the scholarship grants were 15 students who are in 9th batch, 4th year academic grantees; 85 students of 9th batch in one year academic grantees; 3 students, 7th batch middle replacements and 40 students, 7th batch one year academic grantees, a total of 143.
The 1st district congressman said that the scholarship grants for students is the realization of his vision, same with the parents, to educate their children to become useful in the society.
“We will make these funds four times if this program will succeed,” Del Rosario said.
According to him, many government projects become a failure especially when there is a corruption.
He added that the vision of Noynoy-Mar tandem is to get rid the corruption in the government once elected into office in 2010 election.
The awarding of scholarship award were attended by Ms. Melanie R. Arancillo, consultant, congressional district office; Mr. Dennis Canas, scholarship coordinator; Mr. Alberto Roldan, chief of staff, congressional district; and parents and among others.
