Jamora vows full support to urban poor groups
Presidential Assistant Lorenzo “Larry” Jamora assured full support to the urban poor groups in Iloilo City who gathered for a two-day conference last week at the Residence Hotel.
Jamora lauded the efforts of the urban poor leaders in coming together to formulate unified actions and to strengthen their sector.
With issues, challenges and potentials for development laid down to over 300 leaders, Jamora assured full support to the group alongside Representative Diogenes Osabel of the ALAGAD party-list.
Jamora in a press conference welcomed the united front of various urban poor groups saying unity will certainly bring about change and progress.
“This will mean empowerment… this will mean solutions to long-time issues affecting housing tenure, poverty and delivery of basic social services,” Jamora said. Such as he recognized the need for strategic planning for long term solutions and resolutions of urban poor gnawing concerns.
Dubbed “Iloilo Urban Poor Preparatory Consultative Conference,” with Jamora and Representative Osabel was John Nofuente, respected Ilonggo mover of the group.
