Rotarians host career forum
ROXAS CITY – A career forum has been set by the Rotary Club of Roxas in the major secondary schools here as part of its observance of vocation month this October.
The forum, scheduled every Friday, intends to give ideas to graduating high school students on the different career options to take in college.
“After graduation it will be a start of another preparation so we have decided to host this activity,” said Club Fellowship and Vocational Service director and lawyer Albert Gregory Y. Potato.
Various resource speakers from different professions were invited by the Rotarians to enlighten the students on the nature and scope as well as employment opportunities of the different college courses.
The students are given the chance to ask questions from the speakers after every presentation.
For his part, Club President and Dr. Victor Federico B. Acepcion said that their group also conducts and facilitates programs and activities that are geared towards youth development, leadership training, and self-advancement, among others.
He added that the Club has also sponsored the search for “Boy and Girl City Officials” last September.
The organization, which has attained its charter in 1964, is a member of is a member of Rotary International, District 3850 and has been advocating for polio eradication, literacy, health, potable water and other anti-hunger intiatives, and Project – Wishes of Aid and Limbs for Kids (WALK).
