Iloilo City Gov’t honors top taxpayers
The Iloilo City Government recognized the Top 60 taxpayers for their cooperation and valuable contributions to employment opportunities for the Ilonggos and rapid economic growth and progress of the metropolis.
Mayor Jerry Treñas expressed gratitude to the giant taxpayers whom through their bustling businesses have provided a big help to the people and city.
He presented the plaques and certificates of recognition to the leading taxpayers during the awarding rites at Amigo Terrace Hotel Wednesday.

The taxpayers have contributed much to the City Hall’s good revenue collection performance already surpassing the revenue target for 2009 by hitting a whooping 102 percent as of October 22.
The City Treasurer’s Office collected P973,153,050 since January breaching this year’s P958,494,995 city’s budget estimate.
Business and other taxes topped the collections at P302,733,398 or 112 percent of the P269,360,000 target for the whole year.
Real property taxes collections amounted to P158,799,976 or 97 percent of P163,499,717 target for this year.
The mayor credited the diligent efforts of the City Treasurer’s and Assessor’s offices and the cooperation of taxpayers for the successful collection. (PIO)
