PNP, BFP launch ‘Oplan Kaluluwa’
ROXAS CITY – The police and fire departments here are all set for the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day this weekend.
Capiz Provincial Police Office director Sr. Supt. Josephus Angan said they have planned their operational strategy to maintain peace and order while Roxas City Fire Department head Insp. Kenneth Lester Gemotia said they will be on full alert during the 2-day celebration.
Sr. Inspector Norberto Simon said in a radio interview, that checkpoints will be conducted in all the municipalities to ensure that there will no persons carrying deadly weapons inside the cemeteries.
Simon added bringing alcoholic drinks and gambling inside the cemeteries are also prohibited.
Gemotia, on the other hand, said the Roxas City Fire Department will have standby firetrucks to immediately respond in case of fire emergencies. He also said that medical services will also be offered in case of emergency.
Meanwhile, the prices of flowers and candles have started to increase days before the celebration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
