Reopening of Caticlan airport pushed
BORACAY – Various stakeholders in Boracay led by business groups urged the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to reopen the Caticlan airport by December.
Undersecretary Reynaldo Dela Rosa, director of the Eminent Persons Group (EPG), disclosed that the appeal received a positive response from CAAP officials.
“The stakeholders wanted to re-open the airport because then they expect an influx of tourists coming to the resort island during the yuletide season,” Dela Rosa said.
Leading the business sector in the appeal was the Boracay Foundation Incorporated and the Boracay Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The CAAP recently closed the Caticlan airport as the facility is now being upgraded. (PNA)
