Random drug test for high school studes up
Random drug testing will be conducted among selected students of all high schools under the Department of Education (DepEd) in the City and Province of Iloilo on Nov. 9-20.
According to DepEd medical health officer Dr. Melchor Kwan, the random drug testing, which has been postponed for several times already, will be conducted in all high schools in Western Visayas or Region VI, but those under the Division of Iloilo Province and City are the first ones to undergo.
“The other schools will have to wait for their schedules,” Dr. Kwan said, adding that there will be 10 students who will be randomly picked for the drug testing.
Kwan further said that an orientation will be conducted on Nov. 9 at the Division of Iloilo Province. The schools under it will have the random drug testing beginning same day of Nov. 9 until Nov. 13.
On the other hand, the Division of Iloilo City has its schedule on Nov. 13-20.
In Western Visayas, there are 18 DepEd divisions where the random drug testing will be conducted. (PNA)
