Money war
Socialite Rosemarie “Baby” Arenas, her son Ramon, popularly known as “Citoy”, and other members of the Arenas family yesterday hosted a lunch to some political leaders of the second district of Iloilo and members of the media. In the lunch meeting Baby introduced her son “Citoy” who is being groomed to run against the Syjucos in next year’s election. When asked how they will counter the Syjuco money which dictates the outcome of the congressional race in the second district, Citoy Arenas quipped: “Amo na ang ginahadlukan ni Syjuco kay mommy, ang maubos kwarta ya.” Apparently, there will be money war in the second district this coming election.
Jam’s vice mayoralty bid
City Councilor Jam Baronda has long been saying that she will run for vice mayor of Iloilo City in tandem with mayorable Jed Mabilog. In fact, she has already started her campaign strategies for the said post. Last week, however, there were reports that Mabilog will eventually pick City Councilor Lex Tupas as his running mate once he chooses to be with the Liberal Party. If this happens “mababoy” si Kagawad Jam. Well, her options are: to go back to the arms of Sec. Raul Gonzalez Sr. or to join the group of Larry Jamora. Take your pick Jam.
‘To serve and to protect’
Policemen, whether officials or rank and file, are trained to be always courteous and respectful as they perform their duties. Indi sila dapat maghinambog kag mag-abusar kay pumuluyo ang naga-sweldo sa ila. Remember, your slogan is “to serve and to protect.”
Who’s talking?
Ex-Board Member Manny Gallar should remember the dictum: “the more you talk, the more mistakes.” This is what he is committing every time he speaks over the radio hitting on both Cong. Art Defensor and his son Board Member Toto Defensor. Sa sobra ya nga wakal ga-guwa ang iya matuod nga pagkatawo. Sa imo bi Kamlon?
